Planned Maintenance

Arden

The Association is pleased to announce that a major improvement contract in Arden will begin in Autumn 2011, which will take place in Kilmuir Crescent and Kilmartin place.  During the proposed improvements we will:

  • Fit new roofs
  • Fit new insulation in communal loft areas
  • Insulate and re-render the blocks
  • Fit new windows
  • Fit new Central Heating boilers
  • Fit new Central Heating systems (if you currently have electric heating)
  • Replace rear close doors
  • Improve common close area.
The work performed in Kilmuir Crescent and Kilmartin Place will be of a similar nature to that carried out in recent years in Kilmuir Road and Kilbeg Terrace.  The purpose of this work is to bring these properties up to the Scottish Housing Quality Standard (SHQS) and will improve the insulation qualities of the buildings, prolong the life of the buildings and improve the general look of the area.  The work is being part-funded by Scottish Power through the Community Energy Savings Programme (CESP).

A tenant open day was held on 28 June 2011, where we discussed the design and timing of these improvements.

The Association will also be carrying out other works under the CESP programme to renew inefficient central heating systems in Arden and Darnley in 2011-12 and 2012-13 and other measures.

Darnley

The Association has recently completed kitchen and boiler replacements at 56, 66 and 76 Glen Esk Drive in Darnley.  The central heating works was part funded by Scottish Power through CESP.  We hope to extend this work to other areas in Darnley in the foreseeable future.
